Trek Groups are small groups of Lake Cities’ members that are committed to sharing a life journey together. Our groups consist of individuals and families between 6-25 people that typically meet twice or more per month and these groups are led by co-leaders, or Trek Guides, that commit to leading a group from September through May. Meeting dates and types depend on the groups, but may consist of potluck lunches, sporting events, service projects, prayer meetings, Bible studies, game nights, girls/guys outings, worship and singing, or all of the above. The ultimate goal is for the group members to experience community on deeper levels.
Each year in September, Trek Groups are re-launched with Base Camp (a time of fellowship, worship, games and food), which is when all groups officially begin their journeys for the year. In May, Trek Group meetings conclude with a large group event called “Summit,” which is the concluding event for the year. During the year, there are various “Check Points,” which are events for all Trek Groups.
