Our high school teens recently returned from an amazing trip to the Dominican Republic! We had the privilege of serving with Manna Global Ministries in the town of Rio San Juan, and the small village of Bobita. Our teens worked hard as we poured concrete, dug a trench for a new water line, and painted buildings at the children’s home. We had an emotional and moving experience as we prayed over patients in a primitive hospital, played with children who lived next to a landfill, and then handed out nearly 300 care packages to them and to the adults living there.
Spending quality time with the children and teens in the DR was one of the most rewarding experiences of the trip. We played with children at the children’s home, we ran a vacation Bible school for children in Bobita and another VBS in Rio San Juan. Building friendships and sharing the love of Christ is what these mission trips are all about. We are so thankful for this opportunity, and pray we will be forever changed for the better because of what we experienced in this beautiful country, filled with beautiful and friendly people!
