God is richly blessing our family here at Lake Cities! Over the past six months, we have welcomed new families and a new children’s minister, sent and received missionaries around the globe, and seen the Lord do amazing things among us. I’m convinced that the addition of Chet McDoniel to our staff is another avenue through which God will grow and strengthen His Kingdom. Chet will be leading our worship most Sundays, working with our Praise Team, and overseeing our Worship Ministry.
If you don’t know Chet, let me give you a few facts about him. He is a business owner, an inspirational speaker, a gifted worship leader, a loving husband, and a devoted dad. He and his wife Joni operate “Off To Neverland Travel” an agency that specializes in Disney destinations. His beautiful girls Hannah and Olivia are much better behaved in worship than the preacher’s kids! Chet is also highly sought after to speak at churches and community events with his message of hope, acceptance, and the breaking down every barrier that might stand in our way. Recently, he was asked to address the Texas Legislature concerning House Bill 2 and brought a bold Pro Life message to the Texas House Committee on State Affairs.
All of those facts about Chet are impressive, but he would tell you that they all pale in comparison to his relationship with Christ. Chet finds his identity as a blood-bought son of the King. He rests and walks in the unchanging grace of God the Father. He is filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit that leads, directs, and defines his life. Chet will be a part time member of our staff, but he is a full time disciple of Christ. I am so looking forward to all the ways God will use this family to bless the Kingdom here at Lake Cities, in our community, and around the world.
If you would like to know more about Chet, I would encourage you to go to his blog: chetmcdoniel.com/blog. I will be posting one of his articles in an upcoming bulletin. Let’s welcome this new family and new staff member and show them the kind of “One Another” love we practice here at Lake Cities. In keeping with last week’s sermon, I’m sure he would welcome a holy kiss from each of us! (He may be more comfortable with a holy hug). Welcome Chet, Joni, Hannah, and Olivia!
